1. What is the difference between SC(B)H and conventional SC(B) dry type transformers?
The main difference is the core material.
SC(B)H uses an amorphous alloy core, while conventional SC(B) dry type transformers generally use silicon steel cores.
The amorphous alloy core can reduce no-load loss by approximately 60%–80% compared with conventional silicon steel core products.

2. Why can amorphous alloy cores reduce energy consumption?
Amorphous alloy materials have high magnetic permeability, low coercivity, and lower hysteresis loss characteristics.
These properties help reduce core losses during long-term excitation operation.

3. What projects are suitable for SC(B)H Series Amorphous Alloy Dry Type Transformer?
The product is suitable for indoor commercial, industrial, infrastructure, renewable energy, and power distribution applications.
Projects with continuous energization, lower average load rates, energy-efficiency requirements, and strict maintenance conditions can better benefit from the low no-load loss characteristics.

4. Does the transformer require regular oil maintenance?
No.
The Amorphous Alloy Dry Type Transformer does not contain insulating oil and does not require oil sampling, oil filtration, or oil replacement.
Routine maintenance mainly includes cleaning, connection inspection, ventilation checking, temperature monitoring, and electrical inspection.

5. Can AF forced air cooling permanently increase transformer capacity?
AF forced air cooling improves heat dissipation capability, but allowable load levels and operating duration depend on product design, environmental conditions, and temperature limits.

6. Is this product suitable for data centers and renewable energy projects?
Yes.
Selection should consider continuous load operation, harmonic conditions, efficiency targets, ventilation conditions, protection requirements, and system integration requirements.

  • Product Features

Low No-Load Loss Energy-Saving Performance
The Amorphous Alloy Dry Type Transformer adopts amorphous alloy core materials with low hysteresis loss characteristics.
Compared with conventional silicon steel core dry type transformers, the no-load loss can be reduced by approximately 60%–80%, providing energy-saving advantages for applications with long operating hours, continuous energization, or relatively low average load rates.
This makes the product suitable for projects focused on reducing long-term energy consumption and improving total lifecycle efficiency.

Vacuum Cast Epoxy Resin Insulation Structure

The high and low voltage windings adopt vacuum epoxy resin casting technology to form a rigid insulation structure.
This design helps reduce internal air gaps, improve insulation reliability, and enhance resistance to moisture, dust, pollution, and mechanical stress caused by short-circuit conditions.
The solid cast resin structure also improves environmental adaptability for indoor power distribution applications.

Oil-Free Design with Lower Maintenance Requirements
Unlike oil-filled transformers, the Dry Type Transformer does not use insulating oil, eliminating oil sampling, oil filtration, and leakage management requirements.
The oil-free structure simplifies maintenance procedures and is suitable for hospitals, data centers, commercial buildings, transportation facilities, and other projects where maintenance windows are limited.

Flexible Cooling and Temperature Monitoring
The transformer supports AN air natural cooling under normal operating conditions.
For applications requiring higher heat dissipation capability, an AF forced air cooling system with temperature-controlled fans can be configured.
Optional temperature monitoring systems include:

PT100 sensors
Digital temperature controllers
Alarm functions
Trip functions
These configurations help improve operational monitoring and equipment management.

Flexible Project Configuration
The SC(B)H Series Amorphous Alloy Transformer can be configured according to different project requirements, including:
Copper or aluminum windings
F Class or H Class insulation
AN or AF cooling
IP20 or IP23 protection enclosure
Temperature monitoring systems
Customized electrical parameters

Do Dry‑Type Transformers Need to Be De‑energized?

Dry‑type transformers are widely applied for local lighting, high‑rise buildings, airports, wharves, CNC machinery and other facilities. Simply put, a dry‑type transformer is a transformer whose core and windings are not immersed in insulating oil. Under what conditions shall a dry‑type transformer be immediately de‑energized? Fire occurs on the dry‑type transformer; the unit must be shut down immediately. Severe damage or discharge phenomena are observed on the transformer bushing. Stop operation immediately and arrange inspection by qualified professionals. Heavy smoke is emitted from the transformer. Abnormal, loud internal noise accompanied by explosion‑like sounds inside the transformer. Immediate shutdown is mandatory to prevent hazardous accidents. Abnormally high and continuously rising temperature under normal load and cooling conditions. When any of the above‑mentioned symptoms appear, the dry‑type transformer must be de‑energized right away. Continuing operation under such faults may cause personal injury as well as permanent damage to the transformer. These issues shall be addressed promptly. Exercise great caution when encountering any of the above‑mentioned conditions to avoid hazards. Yizheng Hongxin Transformer Co., Ltd. specializes in transformers, including dry‑type transformers, power transformers and oil‑immersed transformers. As a transformer manufacturer based in Jiangsu Province, our plant produces dry‑type transformers, power transformers and oil‑immersed transformers. The company is situated in the Economic Development Zone of Yizheng City, Jiangsu Province, within the Yangtze River Delta.
